Ivy 寫的英文小說 - "Light and Dark"

Ivy's Dad
Ivy's Dad 2013-06-16 23:06:28

現在寫的是改編波西傑克森(Percy Jackson & the Olympians) 和混血營英雄 (The Heroes of Olympus) 有關希臘和羅馬諸神之子的小說.

Light and Dark Chapter 1 Crash! Cassandra jumped, gripping her two sai tightly. This was it, this was the end. Those three stupid Cyclopes was going to end her life, and there was no stopping them. She had already locked and bolted all the doors and windows, but they had still managed to break through the front door. Now they were running upstairs to find her, ready to eat her. But Cassandra wasn't going to go down without a fight, if she was going to die, at least she died fighting. Ever since her mother passed away a few months ago, life hadn't been so easy. Monsters kept popping up trying to kill her: Furies, Cyclopes, Cannibals, Hellhounds, and Dracaenas. Cassandra had always thought these things were myths, but she knew they were real now. Cassandra readied her sai, all her deadly weapons were on her. A sun-shaped hair clip that could turn into a bow and quiver full of arrows, a necklace with small plastic knives that turned into real knives, a plastic, ruby-engraved ring that turned into a bronze shield, and two bracelets with music notes that turned into her two sai. Bam! Her bedroom door crashed down, and Cassandra flinched, raising her sai. Three huge Cyclopes sprinted into her room, all of them held hammers and prongs. The middle Cyclops raised her hammer. "There your are tasty half-blood, you can't hide from us now. You'll make a GREAT meal!" The Cyclops said, cackling gleefully. The other two Cyclopes grinned maliciously, as if to say "Yes! A great meal!" Cassandra gulped, and hefted her sai. "I won't go down without a fight. Hiya!" She threw her sai, and they impaled themselves into the other two Cyclopes' chests. The middle Cyclops howled. " My boys! You killed my boys! Nobody kills Ma Gasket's boys!" Ma Gasket hurtled toward Cassandra, but before she got there, a bronze sword skewered her from behind. Cassandra blinked, where had that sword come from? Ma Gasket dissolved into gold dust, and in front of Cassandra stood two teenagers. A boy and a girl, they looked about 14. The boy had wind blown black hair and sea-green eyes, the girl had blonde hair and stormy grey eyes. "Impressive, taking down two Cyclopes at the same time, a great achievement for an untrained demigod." The blonde said, twirling a bronze knife. Cassandra frowned, what did they just call her? The boy seemed to notice her expression. "You're a demigod, which means your are part Greek God, part mortal." He explained, waiting for her reaction. Cassandra rolled her eyes, they were thinking she would buy this? The girl snorted. "Percy means that one of your parent is one of the 12 Olympian Gods, who are your parents?" Cassandra gulped, she had never been good with introductions. Being the shy and quiet girl, she had hardly spoken in class. "My mom is Catherine Black, she passed away a few months ago." Cassandra said softly, tears brimmed at the edges of her eyes. Percy and the girl looked sympathetic, like they knew how it felt to lose a parent. "And your father?" Percy asked gently, putting a hand on Cassandra's shoulder. She flinched away, and Percy blushed. "Sorry." The girl snorted. "That's the best you got, Seaweed Brain?" Cassandra cracked a smile, that was a funny name. Percy scowled. "Shut up Annabeth." Annabeth rolled her eyes, like she had this conversation before. "I never knew my father, he died when I was born." Cassandra cut in, answering Percy's question. Annabeth shook her head, looking at Cassandra. "Your father's not dead, he's one of the Olympian Gods, that's why you're a demigod." Cassandra looked flabbergasted, the Greek Gods were myths! Percy seemed to know what she was thinking. "I know what you're going to say. The Greek Gods aren't myths, they're real. Did you think the monsters were myths?" That seemed to be a fair question, a long time ago, Cassandra always thought Cyclopes were myths, but they weren't now. "So they are all real, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, everyone." Annabeth nodded, and continued. "And we're here to take you to Camp Half-Blood, a safe place where demigods train. It's not safe for us in the mortal world, where monsters attack. So, you coming?" Cassandra nodded, this was the only place she might be safe. "Count me in." Percy and Annabeth helped her pack: some clothes, her weapons, night things, her savings plus her mother's money, makeup things, accessories, and a couple more things. Once her huge duffle bag was full, they went out of her house. Cassandra locked the door, and took one last look at her wrecked home. This was the last time she would ever see it again, and she was determined to make it last long. Percy whistled twice, and two huge shapes with wings flew towards them. It was two beautiful Pegasus, a pure black one, and a silver one. The black horse whinnied, and Percy sighed. "Yes, I'll buy you donuts when we get back to camp. Blackjack, stop fussing!" "You speak to horses?" Cassandra asked. Percy nodded, "Me being the son of Poseidon and all, yeah, I speak with horses." He and Annabeth mounted Blackjack, and Cassandra climbed onto the silver Pegasus back. She patted its head, feeling its silky mane. "I'll call you Snowball, OK?" Snowball whinnied happily, and Percy laughed. "She agrees." They rose into the sky, Snowball and Blackjack's wings flapping effortlessly. "Who's your parent, Annabeth?" Cassandra yelled through the gust of wind. "Athena!" Annabeth shouted back, gripping Percy's waist for dear life. "And we never caught your name!" Percy shouted, gripping Blackjack's mane like reins. Cassandra smiled. "Cassandra. Cassandra Black. Call me Cass." Percy and Annabeth smiled. "Cass it is." They flew for a few more minutes, before they landed beside the canoe lake of Camp Half-Blood. As they dismounted, campers gathered around them, whispering. "Is that the new recruit?" "She looks weak." "Wonder how good is her fighting skills?" A boy pushed through the crowd. He had curly hair, a wide grin, and hooves. Wait, hooves? No, the boy wasn't a boy, he was a satyr. He gave Percy and Annabeth a bear hug, or a goat hug. "Percy! Annabeth! You're back! So is this her?" Cassandra avoided everyone's gaze, she hated being the center of attention. "Yeah. Everybody! This is Cassandra Black! Our newest camper!" Percy yelled, and everybody waved or grunted " Hello." Cassandra smiled shyly, and continued examining her shoes. A galloping sound approached them, and Cassandra looked up curiously. A centaur, a full grown centaur galloped toward them, a quiver and bow slung over his shoulder. "Ah! Percy! Annabeth! Cassandra! I see you've returned unscathed?" Percy nodded, and scratched his neck nervously. "Yes Chiron." Chiron turned his attention unto Cassandra, and Cassandra shifted her feet nervously. "Ah, Cassandra. I am sure Percy and Annabeth told you who you are?" "Yes," Cassandra answered, and to be polite, "Sir." Chiron looked thoughtful, as if something just crossed his mind. "Since you haven't been claimed yet, we shall put you in the Hermes cabin. Connor, Travis, give her a tour please." Two kids stepped up to Cassandra, they looked like twins. "I'm Connor," said the left one, and held out his hand, which Cassandra shook. "And I'm Travis," said the right one, flashing a wide grin. "Welcome to Camp Half-Blood!" And then they started arguing about, "That's my line!" and "No it's mine!" "Um... Boys? Should we go on?" Cassandra asked timidly. Connor and Travis spun around, looking ashamed. "Yeah right, let's go." Connor said. "We can skip the tour you know? I'm not in the mood anyway." Cassandra suggested. They grinned. "Really? That's good, 'cause we were just going to prank one of our siblings." Cassandra looked curious. "What are you going to do?" Connor and Travis grinned wickedly. "Put pink hair dye in her shampoo." Cassandra grinned, this might be fun. "You know, you can put glitter in there too." Travis and Connor looked thoughtful. "That's a good idea." "Yeah let's do it!" They raced to the Hermes cabin, Cassandra following them with ease. "Just dump your things on that bunk." Connor ordered, and Cassandra dumped her duffle bag on the nearest bunk. They ran to the cabinet that stored all the bath materials, and Connor opened it. "We tape our own names on our own shampoos and things, so it won't get mixed up." "Yeah, who wants to use some GIRLY strawberry shampoo?" Cassandra laughed, and Travis started to search. "Tina, Tina, Tina, Tina, Tina, ah! Here!" He pulled out a huge bottle peach-scented shampoo, and on it was taped: TINA. Connor uncapped the bottle, and Travis brought out two big cans of pink hair dye and glitter. He handed Cassandra the glitter, and they dumped all the contents into Tina's shampoo. Connor used a stick to stir it all together, and the glitter and hair dye sunk to the bottom of the gooey shampoo. As Connor put Tina's shampoo back onto its shelf, a voice called out. "What do you think you're doing?"

Chapter 2 "What do you think you're doing?" Connor, Travis, and Cassandra turned around slowly. In the doorway stood a girl with long strawberry-blond hair, green eyes, and freckles. Connor gulped. "Oh... Hey Tina." So this was Tina, the one they were pranking. Cassandra noticed the door to the cabinet was still open, would Tina catch what they were doing? Travis seemed to think the same thing, his face went white. "What are you doing going through the bath cabinet?" Tina asked, narrowing her eyes in suspicion. Apparently, Connor and Travis had pulled pranks on her before. "They were just showing me around the room, we just came to the cabinet. Hermes cabin really is fabulous, I must say." Cassandra butted in, saving Connor and Travis from trouble. Tina relaxed, flashing a full-braces smile. "Oh! Is that it? Well, I'm glad you like our cabin. I'm Tina by the way, the head counselor for Hermes cabin." Cassandra shook hands with Tina, trying to stifle her laugh at how quick Tina's politeness changed. "Cassandra Black. Call me Cass." "The new kid huh? Haven't been claimed yet?" Cassandra nodded, then shook her head. Connor and Travis breathed a sigh of relief, and stepped forward. "Well, we were just going to show Cassandra around the training arena. You coming, Tina?" Tina shook her head, her strawberry-blond hair bouncing. "Nah, I just came to tell you that there will be a Capture the Flag game, it's Hermes VS Athena." Travis nodded, he and Connor each grabbed one of Cassandra's arm, and dragged her outside. "You just saved our lives." "We owe you one." Cassandra waved them away, blushing slightly. "It was nothing, that's just one of my gifts." She winked, and Connor and Travis laughed. They passed the javelin range, the archery range, and finally came to the sword arena. A few campers were fighting dummies there, but it was mostly empty. Cassandra walked to one of the row of dummies, twisted the middle music notes on her two bracelets, and they transformed into her two bronze sai. Travis and Connor backed away. "Whoa! That is SO cool!" "Yeah! That's awesome!" Cassandra blushed, and twirled her sai, showing off a little. Then she pounced. She slashed, jabbed, twisted, ripped, and sliced. Each of the straw dummies fell, their stomachs slashed open, straw spilling out of their wounds. Cassandra cut down the last dummies, watching the straw spilling out. Connor and Travis looked dumbstruck, jaw open, eyes wide. Cassandra had to stifle a giggle, they looked quite silly. "I thought..." " You couldn't fight!" Cassandra smiled shyly, wringing her hands. "Well, I had to know how to fight when the monsters attacked me." The twins gave each other a high-five, laughing like maniacs. "We definitely will win this Capture the Flag, since you’re on our team!" "Yeah! Hermes VS Athena! Best game ever!" Cassandra spent the rest of the day training, getting better and better every minute. She starred in everything: archery, javelin throwing, sword and spear fighting, canoe rowing, and running. Connor and Travis followed her everywhere, like two lost puppies. They kept popping up to give tips on fighting, or suggesting strategies for Capture the Flag. A conch horn blared, and Cassandra looked up from her mangled dummy. Connor and Travis popped up again, grinning like idiots. "It's time!" "For lunch!" They raced back to the Hermes cabin, all the campers were lining outside their cabin, Tina in front. "Okay, no fighting or joking when we get to mess hall. We shall be really organised when we get there, all clear?" Everybody grumbled and groaned, and Connor whispered to Cassandra. "Tina's an organised freak." Cassandra giggled silently, picturing Tina giving lectures on being tidy and neat. "I can tell." "No talking!" Connor and Cassandra broke apart, laughing slightly at Tina's death glare. For a blond, death glares just made Tina look even more ridiculous. They marched into the mess hall, and sat down at table 11. All the other cabins filed in slowly, and Cassandra saw Percy sitting alone at his table. Chiron raised his glass, and everybody followed suit. "To the gods." "To the gods!" Nymphs and naiads carried platters of food to each of the tables, and Connor nudged Cassandra. "Just say what you want to drink into that cup, it'll appear." Cassandra concentrated hard, and said, "Sprite." Crystal clear liquid appeared in the golden goblet, and Cassandra took a sip. It tasted sweet and cold, right out of the fridge. A wood nymph placed a platter of food in front of Cassandra: grapes, strawberries, cheese, fresh bread, pizza, crackers, bacon, fried eggs, and barbecue straight out of the grill. Cassandra noticed that everybody was standing up, and moving toward the blazing fire. Connor motioned her to come forward. "What are they doing?" Cassandra asked, looking curiously at the campers. "Offers for the gods. Throw a portion into the fire." Cassandra stared at the fire, she saw her face reflecting back at her. She tossed a cluster of strawberries into the fire. "Please dad, claim me. I want to know who I am." Everybody ate happily, food was thrown around, laughter echoed around the mess hall, campers chatted and joked. Cassandra laughed at Connor's silly faces and Travis's funny jokes, the Hermes cabin was the loudest of all. Cassandra watched Percy pick at his food glumly, all alone at the Poseidon table. She felt sorry for him, being the only child of Poseidon must be a lonely thing. Percy caught Cassandra's eye, and waved slightly, managing a grin. Cassandra then noticed another lone camper sitting by herself, a girl with spiky black hair and wearing punk clothes. She was sitting at the Zeus table, she must be a child of Zeus. She nudged Connor who was sticking French Fries up his nostrils. "Who's that?" Cassandra yelled over the commotion. Connor squinted at the girl. "That's Thalia, daughter of Zeus." Cassandra nodded, and at the same time Chiron stepped onto the pavilion. "As you all know, there is a game of Capture the Flag this afternoon." Everybody cheered happily, especially the Hermes and Athena cabins. "The pairings will be Athena..." The Athena cabin whooped, and Cassandra saw Annabeth flashing her a "You're dead" look. Cassandra stuck out her tongue at her, probably the most childish thing she could do. "... and Hermes cabins." Cassandra and the other Hermes campers jeered and gave each other high-fives. "And we have a new camper today if you haven't noticed, Cassandra Black." Connor motioned Cassandra to stand up, and Cassandra obeyed, giving a shy wave. Chiron released them, and Cassandra raced to find Percy and Annabeth. They were approaching the sword arena, chatting and laughing. Cassandra caught up with them, and gave them a thump on the back. They jumped and spun around, Percy drawing his sword and Annabeth her knife. "Hi." Cassandra replied meekly, eyeing the sword and knife carefully. Percy looked embarrassed and sheathed his sword, Annabeth did the same. " Oh hey, Cass. Sorry for... You know." Cassandra waved away the apology. "Nah, it's okay. Can I train with you?" Annabeth smirked, a friendly smirk not a evil smirk. "Were you afraid we'd kick your butt in Capture the Flag?" Cassandra rolled her eyes, they didn't know how good she was in fighting. "No, I want to know if I'm better than you two." Percy raised his eyebrows, eyeing her slowly. "Is that a challenge?" Cassandra nodded, smirking slightly. This might be fun, Percy and Annabeth was going to get their butts kicked. "Challenge accepted." Annabeth replied confidently, twirling her knife. Showing off, Cassandra was sure. "Race you!" Cassandra yelled, and they took off, sprinting to the sword arena. The training was intense, Percy managed to defeat 20 dummies in 20 seconds, Annabeth 20 dummies in 25 seconds, and Cassandra? 30 dummies in 10 seconds. "You're bluffing!" "You couldn't have!" Cassandra pointed at her watch, then at the pile of broken dummies. Percy and Annabeth looked flabbergasted, this must be the first time another demigod defeated Percy Jackson, the greatest swordsman in the world. "I'll fight you." Percy challenged, and Cassandra smiled, this was what she was waiting for all day. "You're so on." Percy gripped his sword, which he called Riptide. Cassandra just stood there, her two sai hanging at her sides. Percy charged, and Cassandra whipped out her sai. Percy jabbed and slashed, and Cassandra side stepped and dodged. This was too easy, Cassandra thought. Percy being the offensive one wasn't entertaining enough, so she was going to switch sides. She dodged another strike, and did a slash of her own. Percy dodged it, by about an inch, and Cassandra cursed. She slashed, jabbed, stabbed, and twirled, Percy barely dodged her strikes. Cassandra finally got bored, and lunged. She jumped onto Percy and knocked him down onto the ground, holding her sai in an X-formation at his throat. "I win." Cassandra got off Percy, and pulled him up. Percy grimaced, throwing down Riptide in defeat. "How did you get so good?" He asked, groaning as he stretched his stiff legs and arms. Cassandra shrugged, rolling her eyes at Annabeth's glare. "Since 3 hours ago." Annabeth shook her head, throwing up her hands disbelievingly. " I can't believe you managed to defeat Percy after 3 hours of training! You just stole his title!" Cassandra considered this, she DID only train for 3 hours, but she got a lot of experience already when the monsters attacked her. "Cassandra the greatest swords woman in the world, it has quite a good ring to it." Annabeth shook her head in defeat, she gave up. "Just because you're better than Percy, doesn't mean you can defeat us in Capture the Flag!" Cassandra watched Percy and Annabeth's retreating figures. Let's wait and see, Annabeth. Wait and see.

Chapter 3 A conch horn blared, and Cassandra ran to the mess hall. The campers were gathered around their cabin's table, yelling and jeering. Cassandra pulled on a set of bronze armor, and put on her helmet. It felt heavy, and a blue horsehair plume was on top of the helmet. Cassandra tapped her plastic ring, and it transformed into a bronze shield with a big pattern of a sun in the middle. She tapped each of her knives on her necklace, and they appeared in the straps of her belt. She unclasped her hair clip, clipped it again, and it transformed into a wooden bow, with a quiver full of arrows slung on her back. Finally, Cassandra took out her sai, and slipped them into the back straps of her armor. The teams were announced, Hermes had Hephaestus, Apollo, Zeus, and Ares on their side. Athena had Poseidon, Aphrodite, Dionysus, and Demeter on their side. Chiron raised his hands, and silence filled the mess hall. "Campers! You all know the rules! The creek is the boundary line. The entire forest is fair game. All magic items are allowed. The banner must be displayed in plain view, and have no more than three guards. Prisoners may be disarmed, but may not be bound or gagged. No killing or maiming is allowed. I will serve as referee and battlefield medic." Tina raised her spear, and yelled, "Blue team! Forward!" Cassandra and the others yelled and jeered, and ran to the south woods. Athena and the other camps ran north, shouting insults at them. Tina stuck the flag beside Zeus's Fist, and set Cassandra and Beckendorf to guard it. "Why can't I be in the fighting?" Beckendorf grumbled, glaring at Tina. She glared back, pointing her spear at him. "Because the flag needs you, Cassandra needs you, we don't. Got it?" Beckendorf reluctantly agreed, and Tina flashed him a full-braces smile. "Good. Now, Will takes Apollo cabin to the left, disarm everybody. Clarisse takes Ares cabin to the right, make sure to clean the path. I'll take Hermes and Hephaestus cabins into the middle, we'll fight to the end, and we'll grab the flag. Oh and Thalia? Stay here with Beckendorf and Cassandra please?" Thalia groaned, and slammed her spear into the ground. "Why do I have to guard a stupid flag with these midgets! I can fight!" Tina's eyes flared, and Cassandra had to admit it was scary. "You. Will. Guard. The. Flag. Or. Else." Thalia nodded reluctantly, and glared daggers at Beckendorf and Cassandra. Tina grinned, and yelled, "Blue team! Attack!" Cassandra, Beckendorf, and Thalia could only stand there and watch the fight go on. Cassandra spotted Percy racing towards them, Riptide in hand, his eyes trained determinedly on the flag. She turned to the others. "Thalia, Beckendorf, go help the others. I can protect the flag myself." Thalia and Beckendorf exchanged worried looks. "Fine, but I hope you're good." They ran into the fight, disarming a couple of campers already. Cassandra glared at Percy defiantly, it's on son of the sea god. Percy raced onto Zeus's Fist, and was surprised to see Cassandra there. Cassandra grinned at Percy, this was going to be fun. "What's up Percy? Came to take the flag? I don't think so, you'll have to get through me to do that. And from I recall, I beat you in training, didn't I?" Percy rolled his eyes, this girl had some nerves. " No you didn't, I went easy on you, but I won't now." He brought his sword down, but Cassandra deflected it. He jabbed, and Cassandra dodged. She slammed the butt of her sai into his chest, and Percy stumbled. Cassandra whirled, and karate-kicked Percy across the head, he fell down, dazed. Cassandra jumped onto him, holding the tip of her sai at his throat. "Oops, looks like I struck a cord didn't I? Fancy the mighty Percy Jackson being defeated by a unclaimed girl who hasn't even been properly trained yet! It'll be on the world wide news!" Percy growled and pushed Cassandra off him, but she reacted quickly. She swept her sai across his feet, and Percy fell down again. As he was trying to stand up, a roar came to their ears. Tina was running towards the creek, Athena's flag in her hand. "No!" Percy yelled, trying in vain to get up. But Cassandra kneed him in the gut, and he gasped. " No maiming!" Cassandra rolled her eyes, and leaned down so she was nose and nose with Percy. "That wasn't maiming, I didn't even cut your skin. And looks like we've won." Percy looked behind him, and saw Tina holding the flag high, already at the other side of the creek. The flag shimmered, and turned silver with a caduceus on it. "No!!!" Percy roared, and pushed Cassandra off him with all his might. She slammed against Zeus's Fist, and it shuddered slightly. Cassandra got up, her eyes glowing gold. Percy stepped back, looking terrified. " Um... Cass?" Cassandra growled, and she stomped her foot. A blinding light exploded around Percy, making him shield his eyes, the light wrapped itself around Percy, cocooning him inside. Annabeth ran over, her eyes wide with terror. " What's going on! Cass! Stop!" Suddenly, everybody gasped. The light around Percy faded, and Cassandra looked up. A symbol floated on top of her head, the symbol of Apollo. But before Cassandra could take a good look at it, it faded away. Chiron trotted up to them, looking appalled. " This is the first time I saw a child of Apollo with such gifts. You have been claimed by Apollo, god of sun, music, poetry, and medicine. Hail, Cassandra Black, Wielder of Light, Maiden of Music, daughter of Apollo." Since Cassandra had been claimed, she had to move into the Apollo cabin. It was sad, moving away from her friends in Hermes cabin, especially Connor and Travis, but she promised to visit them again. Will Solace, counselor for Apollo cabin came to take her away; hugs and goodbyes were exchanged, even though they could still see each other around camp. Cassandra had to admit, Apollo cabin was cool. It was bright gold, with a huge sun engraved on top of the door to the cabin. Will led her in, and Cassandra found herself in an over-crowded cabin. He led her over to a empty bunk, and gave her a quick tour around the cabin. Lots of Cassandra's half brothers and sisters were laughing, joking, playing with lights, making the lightbulbs go on and off. "So this is the Apollo cabin, make yourself at home." Will said, flashing her a toothy grin, then walking off to his brothers. Cassandra didn't want to stay put in a crowded cabin, so she went to the archery range to cool off. Nobody was there, so she had the whole range to herself. She transformed her hair clip into her bow, slid an arrow into the bow, pulled the string, aimed it at the farthest bullseye, and released the bow string. Zap! The arrow zipped through the air, and hit the bullseye. Cassandra smiled, her eyes searching for another target. She spotted the highest apple on an apple tree, she loaded her bow, and released it yet again. Swoosh! The arrow pierced itself into the apple, and it fell down. As if in slow motion, Cassandra sprinted forward, and caught the apple before it hit the ground. Mission accomplished. As Cassandra was munching the apple that she shot down, Percy and Annabeth walked up to her. Since Cassandra was sitting on a tree, they had to crane their necks to see her. "Hey Cass!" Percy yelled, waving at her to come down. Cassandra nodded back, still crunching her apple. "Can you come down for a sec?" Annabeth called, tapping her feet impatiently. Whatever it was, it must be important. Cassandra slid down the tree, and landed gracefully on her feet. "What is it? Something wrong?" Annabeth took a deep breath, and let it all out. "Me, Percy, and Thalia are going to Westover Hall in Bar Harbor, Maine. Grover just found two half-bloods there. It's hard enough to find one half-blood, but two? That's rare." Cassandra frowned, Grover just found two demigods in one day? That was weird. "Why can't I come?" Cassandra asked, almost whining like a 5 year old not getting a sweet. But in Cassandra's case, it was because she didn't get to go on a quest. "Mr. D said something about new campers not allowed on a quest." Annabeth replied. Cassandra groaned, stupid Dionysus. Why couldn't Dionysus let her on this quest? Her light powers might be useful. And he constantly called Cassandra: Cassiopeia Crack. "Fine. But make sure to give me details when you get back." Cassandra decided. Percy grinned, and they hugged each other tightly. "Sure." Cassandra went to bid Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia goodbye. Percy's mother, Sally Jackson, came to drive them. She was a nice lady, and Cassandra laughed when she told them about how cute Percy looked in a diaper. At this, Percy's face turned beet red, as the others roared in laughter. Sally even showed them a picture of baby Percy in only a diaper, sucking his thumb. Percy snatched the picture from Sally's hand, and ripped it into pieces. Cassandra gave Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia a hug each, and lectured them about being safe and giving her details when they came back. Thalia had completely warmed up to her when she knew how powerful Cassandra was, even though she was only a Daughter of Apollo, and Thalia was the daughter of Zeus. "Bye Percy" Cassandra said to Percy, hugging him tightly. "By the way, Cass, be good in camp, don't set anything on fire." Cassandra laughed, she hadn't tried that yet. But if she ever got the chance to use that on a monster, she would definitely set it on flames. "Bye Annabeth." "Bye Cass, we'll come back as soon as we can." Cassandra smiled, and gave Annabeth another bear hug before moving on to Thalia. "Keep them safe, Pinecone Face." Cassandra joked. "Did you learn that from Percy?" Thalia asked, not angry, only amused. Cassandra cracked a grin. Percy indeed told her his nicknames for Thalia and Annabeth. "Yep, he told me quite a lot of things." "Remind me to kill him later, okay?" Thalia joked. Cassandra nodded, and watched her friends climb into Sally's car one by one. "Bye Mrs. Jackson, don't let them get into trouble." Cassandra said. Sally smiled, and gave Cassandra a light hug. "Of course. If they do, I'll kick their butts." Cassandra laughed, and waved as the car sped away. Little did she know, one of her friends wouldn't come back as they promised.
